Robert Bartner is a training and supervising psychoanalyst at the Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California (PINC), where he is also faculty to candidates in training. He is adjunct faculty at the San Francisco Center of Psychoanalysis (SFCP). He has a Ph.D. in psychology and is a licensed marriage and family therapist. Dr. Bartner taught graduate psychology courses for many years at John F. Kennedy University and the Center for Integral Studies in San Francisco. He also teaches at a variety of post-graduate training centers throughout the bay area where he helps train therapists in their clinical internships. In addition to this type of training, Dr. Bartner teaches experienced therapists through various programs of the Northern California Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology (NCSPP) and other programs. Dr. Bartner has had a private practice in Oakland, where he see’s individuals, couples and provides consultation for practicing clinicians.
